The stalk or Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) will be retained as a fuel for the boiler / furnaces. The efficient combustion of the Empty Fruit Bunch will yield muriate of potash which may later be used as a fertilizer for the Oil Palm Trees.

The purpose of the Stripper / Thresher is to detach the individual Oil Palm Fruits from the stalk of the quartered Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFBs) and then separate the detached Palm Fruit from the stalk by continuously rotating the FFBs in a spiked tumble cage. Using an elevator the Palm Pericarp and Kernel (PPK) is then transferred via a hopper to the Horizontal Rapid Digester.
